What’s new: A recording of an all day event at George Washington University’s Space Policy Institute.

  • Dept. of Transportation Deputy Secretary Bradbury was the opening speaker. That he came in person and expressed his concerns about GPS vulnerability and the nation’s overall state of PNT was significant and encouraging.
  • The many impressive speakers provided interesting insights and historical perspective.

  • After the deputy secretary spoke, the event was organized into a series of panels.

  • A new paper “U.S. Policy Decisions that Shaped Civil and Commercial GPS” by Brian Weeden was premiered.
  • During his opening remarks the Deputy Secretary heaped high praise on Karen Van Dyke, former longtime lead for PNT at DOT, and ADM Thad Allen, Chair of the National Space-based PNT Advisory Board.
